FF GOTTA HAVE IT - Prada Saffiano Leather Tote

I decided to post my FF gotta have it bag today since it happens to be the bag that Miranda Kerr is wearing in my previous blog SPRING IT ON - feat. Miranda Kerr.  It is the very lovely, lady-like, PRADA Prada Saffiano Leather Tote.  Saffiano is referred to the type of leather, a grainy cross hatched texture.  It's supposed to withstand scratches and keep the bag looking newer longer.  Every woman should own a structured tote.  It is polished, lady like and definitely a time piece and Prada knows all about all three.   And to celebrate Earth day I am promoting recycled handbags!  Yes, that means buying second hand.  The bag Miranda Kerr is carrying is $2,000 online but sold out :(  I've scoped out similar finds on eBay.  Check them out:

Another fashion icon: Miranda Kerr.  Head to toe she is always looking polished.  I found this picture of her leaving LAX and she looks fantastic!  I love this look for spring:  coral light weight blazer, white basic tee, dark denim boot cut jeans and neutral extras.  Pairing with whites (totally crushing on her Prada Tote) and neutrals focuses the attention on the gorgeous blazer.  The cut and material pf the blazer is relaxed which is great for spring but the dark denim and keeps her look from looking sloppy (like she could ever look sloppy).

I've been searching quite a bit for my next bag purchase and fell in love with Chloe's Marcie leather bag.  I'm thinking for my size and lifestyle the medium satchel is perfect!  The most important feature I was looking for was a 2 way handle where you can wear it using a long strap or short handle.  And with all the gorgeous colours, choosing one will be very difficult!  

 Again, I always keep one eye on department stores and one eye on eBay...Here are a few Chloe bags I found on eBay!

Easy weekend look - coffee with friends

The outfits for this weekend are:
1.  Plaid shirt and jeans for Saturday errands.  The shirt is a shrunken cut so it still looks very feminine.  I tucked in only the front for an easy vibe.  The brown belt was a $10 find at GAP.  Fashion find tip:  Always look for markdowns on belts and scarves when you're in a store.  It is a wallet friendly way to add finishing touches to your outfit.
2.  Loose shirt and knee high boots for coffee with friends.  I was meeting a friend for coffee so wanted a more polished casual look.  High boots are an instant outfit maker and the necklace was fun and feminine.  Fashion find tip: I bought the boots half price on boxing day.  The store didn't carry my size so I asked them to order it and they delivered it to my house for free!  December is a good time to get 50% off over the knee bootsand other style boots, wait til February and get up to 70% off but selections are definitely limited.

Buying new shoes for spring to add that extra spring in your step?  Metallics are your go to!  Spring is about colour and brights.  Add neon to your look and metallic shine to your step.  I picked out 3 to get you inspired and with the price tag of each I might be tempted to get all 3...

Easy weekend looks

Look good and feel comfortable running errands on the weekends.  Between driving my daughter around to all her extra curriculars, grocery shopping and other errands it's important for me to be comfortable.  So Seriously, leave the jogging pants and running shoes for the gym.  Featured in both looks are TOMS Desert Wedge.

FF GOTTA HAVE IT

          FASHION FINDS GOTTA HAVE IT - As seen on many, many, many celebrities, one of my favourite purses of all time - The Chanel Bag.  Pictured are: Kim Kardashian, Blake Lively, Gwyneth Paltrow.  Though the size, style and colour may vary (I love them all) one thing is for certain -it is timeless, versatile a true classic.  I've seen them paired with casual wear as well as more sophisticated outfits.  I personally have my eye on the Quilted Double Flat bag.

There are definitely more affordable alternatives to buying brand new and that's buying pre-owned.  Check out all your local consignment stores who specialize in designer labels.  There are also online consignment stores such as yoogi's closet, beyond the rack (great site for canadians) etc where you will find a wide variety of great bags.  Ebay has always been a personal favourite of mine when it comes to finding designer items for less than retail.  If you are worried about knock offs look into the sellers who are also online consignment retailers.

SPRING IT ON - HANDBAGS Louis Vuitton

Switching your bag from winter to spring is a fun and easy way to change your overall look.  Ditch the black and earthy colour bags and go for bright colours and whites.
Louis Vuitton is one of my favourite (of very many lol) designers for handbags.  Louis Vuitton Speedy is an iconic design, great for on the go, "speedy" Fashionistas.  It's a small bag but the shape of it allows you to fit alot and in the Damier Azur colour, it is definitely a perfect bag for spring.

SPRING IT ON - 70's vibe with Victoria Beckham

With Spring "technically" here, I've started compiling looks I like from my fashion inspirations.  Top of my list is Victoria Beckham.  Here is a simple outfit for casual fridays or going out for coffee with friends:

The Trench Coat

I really like the mixed material trench of leather and cotton like the Avra coat from Mackage.  Find it at: Mackage Avra
It's both edgy and sophisticated.  What I particularly like about Mackage is the fit.  It's very flattering, especially on petite figures.

Another favourite is the classic Burberry long coat.  You know it will last a lifetime.  Loving the Burberry plaid under the collar.

The "not so basic" tee.

A favourite tee: comfortable and versatile!  Featured below is an All Saints slouchy tee.  It's important to invest in a good "basic" t-shirt.  Whether you spend $5 or $50, a good t-shirt should be a wardrobe staple.  Pair it with your favourite jeans and runners for an easy weekend look, or dress it up with a blazer or skirt.  See below for 3 very different looks using 1 very simple tee.

With all this rain and dreary weather I turn to a good pair of rain boots to run errands and of course, jump in puddles!  What I like about Hunters are the welly socks that turn them into warm winter boots.  There are great deals on ebay right now.  This one in particular folds down for easy packing!  Check it out and others like it.
