Early spring, when the weather is just starting to warm up, is the perfect time to sport a trendy blazer. Cropped, tuxedo, rolled sleeve..so many styles to choose from and in a "of the moment" colour like electric blue or coral, it is definitely an essential piece for the fashionista. 3 blazers I love are: 1. the classic cut 2. cropped tuxedo 3. unstructured loose fit. Below is an inspirational look from Jessica Alba - I think she does casual cool very well. I put together a similar look for approx $415 but essentially here is what you need to re create this style:
1. cropped blazer

3. black t-shirt
4. colour pop, mirrored sunglasses
5. cool silver necklace
6. Caged heels
or strappy sandals
7. cool, fun bag (like studded, or tribal print)
It has been consistently 20 degrees here in Toronto and I am home with a cold :(
This week I have been inspired to find my favourite celebrity looks and put togteher their looks for less. What I try to look for when finding outfits is whether or not I own a similar piece or pieces from the look. That way I save even more if I don't have to go out and buy. My first inspired look is again, Miranda Kerr. Hmm, a white collared shirt and navy blue skirt? sounds a little too "school uniform" BUT she totally pulls it off. The length of the skirt, her red lips, fun accessories like a hat and animal print bag makes this outfit anything but school uniform. Her denim jacket is fun and laid back which compliments the length of her skirt. However, her classic make up and structured tote polishes up her look.
Key pieces:
1. denim jacket (pull out your old jacket you've stored since highschool, denim jackets are back!)
2. white button down shirt. You should already own this classic. If not, go and buy it, it's a staple item.
3. fedora hat. Not only is it stylish, it protects you from the sun :)
